Goose Creek, S.C.- The SCISA 2024 Baseball season is nearing the halfway point of the regular season. Most of the schools will be in spring breaks the first week of April, after which the battles will be for playoff seedings.
Class 4-A has Trinity Collegiate (8-1), Porter-Gaud (3-1), Pinewood Prep (6-4), Laurence Manning (3-2), Augusta Christian (3-3) and First Baptist (7-7) fighting for top seedings.
Class 3-A has Williamsburg Academy (11-0), Pee Dee Academy (7-0), Hilton Head Christian (10-2), Hilton Head Prep (8-1), Northside Christian (7-2) in the top tier of contenders. Florence Christian (7-3), Christian Academy (6-2) and Greenwood Christian (7-4) all are hoping for strong stretch runs.
Class 2-A leaders are Patrick Henry Academy (6-0), Calhoun Academy (8-1), St. Johns Christian (6-4) and Thomas Heyward Academy (3-1).
Class 1-A leaders are Richard Winn Academy (4-0) and Jefferson Davis Academy (6-2). Holly Hill Academy (2-4), Laurens Academy (2-5) and Wardlaw Academy (2-6) are still in the fight for playoff seeding.
The Trinity Collegiate Titans hope strong pitching will lead them to a Title. Dewsey Meadows has an ERA of 0.58 followed by Drew Andrews with an ERA of 0.78. JW Arthur comes in at 2.47 and Hayes Bridgers at 4.20.
The Titans hitting has been led by Grayson Benenhaley (.458), Gates Chapman (.385), Davidson Lynch (.333) and Mac Buchanan (.308).
The Pinewood Prep Panthers hitting has been led by James Peterson (.480), Max Poulakis (.444), Dalton Bisbano (.312) and Drew Hartig (.300).
The Augusta Christian Lions leading hitters has been Jonah Shipes (.500), Ethan Duckworth (.385), Santiago Pacheco (.357) and Wilson Donnelley (.308)
The Northwood Academy Chargers (5-5) still hope for good 4-A playoff seeding. The leading hitters for the Chargers have been Ryan Kerkhoff (.500), Gabe Muckelvaney (.343), Ben Defriece (.333) and William Rose (.303).
The Williamsburg Academy Stallions are using strong pitching along with strong hitting to put them in a good position to win the 3-A Title. Bryce Blackburn leads the pitching with a 5-0 record and 0.62 ERA. Layton Morris is 1-0 with a 1.40 ERA. Greyson Moore is 3-0 with a 1.65 ERA. Wyatt Floyd is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA.
Blake Hedrick leads the hitting with a batting average of .500. Blackburn follows at .457. Floyd comes in at .389. Conrad Balder at .379, Morris at .364 and Wes Smith at .324 follow.
The Hilton Head Christian Eagles have had strong hitting form Slaide Burd (.459), Cody Bradt (.457), Roman Cellela (.447), Chip Hetzel (.378), Steele Burd (.310) and Alex Epstein (.308).
The Eagle pitching has been led by Hayden Brooks (3-0), James Crosby (2-0) and Walker Mikkelson (1-0).
The Northside Christian Crusaders have used strong pitching and hitting to put them in serious contention for a title. The pitching is being led by Luke Bohnsack 2-0 with 0.00 ERA. Logan Gouviea is 1-1 with 0.72 ERA. Grayson Crim is 2-1 with 1.22 ERA. Aiden Bowers is 2-0 with 2.39 ERA.
Easton McCutchan leads the Crusaders hitting with a .483 average. Cade McNeill follows at .429 and Will Spotts comes in at .423.
The Patrick Henry Academy Patriots strong start has been led by seniors Hugh Fairey and Forest Fairey. From the pitchers mound Forest stands 3-0 with an ERA of 0.00 and Hugh stands 1-0 with an ERA of 0.00. Sims Brunson stands 1-0 with a 1.40 ERA.
Jacob Corley leads the Patriot hitting with a .500 batting average. Andrew Searles and Spencer Kelehear follow at .400. Forest and Hugh follows at .391 and .333.
The Calhoun Academy Cavaliers hitting has been led by Colt Layton (.418), Connor Hayes (.409), Crews Felder (.407) and Jordan Noell (.333).
The Cavaliers strong pitching has been led by Chase Strickland 2-0 with 0.86 ERA and Thomas Roland 1-0 with 1.83 ERA.
The Richard Winn Academy Eagles are off to a strong start on the hitting of Charlie Bonds (.571), Stone Gill (.571), Miller Stuck (.444) and Ethan Steward (.429). Jonathan Bonds, Grant Brown and Turner Burchell all follow at (.333).
The Eagle pitching staff has a 0.75 ERA led by Charlie Bonds (0.00) followed by Anthony Armstrong (0.81) and Miller Stuck (1.40).
