Summerville - Pinewood Prep claimed a 60-13 win over visiting Northside Christian Academy from Lexington Nov. 7 during the first round of the SCISA Football Playoffs.

The Panthers began pulling starters at the beginning of the third quarter and held a 54-0 lead after three quarters of play.

“It was a good game for us, but I still feel we haven’t played our best game yet,” said Pinewood coach DeVonte Holloman. “That could be a good thing, or a bad thing. Our quarterback played really well. I asked the offense to take care of the football because we’ve been putting the ball on the ground a lot and I don’t think we had any turnovers tonight.”

Junior quarterback Silas Brawner completed 16 of 20 pass attempts for 338 yards and five TDs. Freshman Tyler Harper had two touchdown catches and returned a punt 67 yards for a TD. Junior Lavoris Lucas had two TD receptions.

Grayson Salego and Jeremy Kendall both rushed for a TD. Graydon Fuller returned a blocked field goal 83 yards for a TD. Tre Green had a 50-yard TD catch.

Harper finished with four receptions for 82 yards and Pinewood senior Jayden Alexander had four catches for 80 yards.

Pinewood improved to 8-3 on the season while Northside finishes its season at 3-8. Both of the Crusaders’ TDs came in the fourth quarter. Senior running back John Rogers had a 9-yard TD run and sophomore back Gracen Wilson had a 7-yard TD run.

Pinewood senior Will Watson and sophomore Mikey Williams both had an interception.

The Panthers host Florence Christian (8-2) for the second round. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14 at Pinewood.
