From Staff Reports

Moncks Corner—Coaches, or official team stats person, are asked to e-mail weekly stats leaders in offense, defense, and kicking/punting to hsreport@aol.com by Tuesday night each week for Football Honor Roll consideration based on most recently played game & The HSSR Will List Honor Roll Winners at hssr.com by Wednesday night each week. Also, our football stats page will be updated several times a week at hssr.com and coaches are asked to send year- to- date stats leaders in passing, rushing, receiving, along with touchdowns scored and number of attempts in passing and rushing by Tuesdays of each week also. On defense we need total tackles, sacks, and interceptions. The HSSR also needs Punts with attempts an average. Place kickers stats are kept on PAT’s & Field goals & total points. Example: Tom Jones-Walhalla-5-39-54: Tom has 5 field goals, 39 PAT’s, for a total of 54 points.

Also football teams are encouraged to email basic facts of their games on Friday night  (win or lose) to hsreport@aol.com and the HSSR will edit in a game summary reports on Saturday morning if we get enough reports in to warrant this public service offer. The only school to send in a summary game report in Week One was Palmetto Christian. We will continue with this recognition program for the SCHSL member teams once they start playing on September, 25th.   Schools like Lamar, Dutch Fork, & Byrnes have been sending in game reports “with complete stats” for years and we usually put them up late Friday night before we sign off hssr.com.

Finally, year to date stats should be sent to two e-mail addresses: hsreport@aol.com, sc7777@aol.com.  Both of these e-mails are important to use when schools send in stats.

The first e-mail address comes directly into the HSSR home office and we need them for honor roll considerations and to constantly evaluate players on our Top HSSR-SCISA Player list (ranking players in all grades 1-50 regardless of class year). Our first ranking will be out soon but many SCISA coaches have not returned requested team information forms yet, even after our “Second Request” was sent our Sunday. Our first request went out around August. 24. Please encourage your respective head coaches to send back team information forms. They can actually down load a standard football form under “Coaches Forms” on the home page of hssr.com. No stamp required. Coaches can down load the form, fill it out online and send it back to hsreport@aol.com. The HSSR prefers e-mails because taking a picture of the form with your cell phone often sends us a dark a blurry copy hard to read.

The E: mail address sc7777@aol.com belongs to our 35 years “Stats Master & HSSR Historian” Gerald Doolittle who often puts up stats at 5 a.m. in the morning!  He is also the Doodles Doodles power rating guru who predicts the winners and losers each week with a 75 per cent career success percentage to his credit. Gerald has every score of every prep football game (on file) played in the state of South Carolina since the early 1960’s.  He has had some health issues lately (now in his early 70’s) and we pray for his well-being all the time.  Honesty, Gerald is a one of kind journalist and we thank him for his long-time relationship with the HSSR.
