Baseball. Softball Game Two Games Will Present Great Competition On Wednesday-Friday Of This Week

Moncks Corner—In AAA girls’ softball all eyes will be watching for a score from the Battery Creek hosting Union County softball game two today. The Lady Dolphins won 2-1 Monday in Union and this game should go down to the wire today.

The HSSR will be going to press with a 72-page issue on May 31st which will be packed with information from all the state championship teams in all spring sports. Coaches are asked to use all-state nomination forms that can be down loaded at hssr.com. Soccer coaches are asked to nominate players to hsreport@aol.com with stats included. Baseball and softball all-state forms were mailed in care of athletic directors this past Sunday. Our 34th annual Spring all-state banquet will take place at Seawells on Sunday June 23rd.

In AAAAA softball Lexington will be At Byrnes and the Lady Rebels won game one 12-8 Monday. Hartsville, a 6-5 winner over Palmetto Monday will be at Palmetto today looking for their third state title in the past seven years. In AA Ninety-Six defeated Latta 5-3 Monday at home and they are at Latta today hoping to close out a state title.

In Class A softball HSSR Publisher Billy Baker will be in Lake View to cover the Wild Gators contest with Dixie. Lake View beat Dixie 3-1 on the road Monday and they will be a challenge to beat at home.

In baseball McBee has won their third straight state title with a series sweep over Green Sea Floyd Floyds. In AA Oceanside Collegiate will host Landrum. Landrum defeated the Landsharks 2-1 at home Monday.  In AAA Crescent lost to Bishop England at home last Saturday and then took a 6-4 win over the Bishops on Daniel Island to even the series. A third game will be played in Lexington on Friday. In Class AAAA eastside beat Midland Valley 11-1 at home last Saturday and they play at Midland Valley today.

In AAAAA baseball Blythewood and Dutch Fork are tied up at one win each.  They will play the tie breaker at the Fireflies minor league baseball park on Friday.
