Lady Raiders cruise to 9th win on the year 62-29

~~St. George – After a slow start Thursday night at Shuler Gymnasium the Dorchester Academy Lady Raiders kicked it up a notch midway through the first quarter and eventually ran away from a game Faith Christian squad to win the their 9th game on the year 62-29.

“We were a little sloppy at the start of the game on offense,” said head coach Callie McClure.
“We have had problems with consistency all year and tonight was no different. Once we started to play our game things went well.”

The game was tight early until the Lady Raiders went on an 11-5 run to end quarter number one up 15-9. The run was keyed by the inside play of Elizabeth Huff and Savanna Shelton. They led the Lady Raiders on the night with 17 and 14 points respectively.

The game was never in doubt after the first quarter as the Lady Raider continually increased their lead in each subsequent quarter to the 62-29 final.

Chipping in 8 points each for the Lady Raiders were Vivian Weathers and Savanna Varn.

The Lady Knights were led by Lily Massey and Princess Tisdale with six points each.

Up next for the Lady Raiders is an away game Friday night at Andrew Jackson Academy (6-2/2-0) while Faith Christian will host Cathedral Academy.
