C of C’s Chad Holbrook Set To Keynote 31st Annual HSSR Spring Sports Awards Banquet

Moncks CornerCollege of Charleston head baseball coach Chad Holbrook will serve as the keynote speaker for the 31st annual HSSR Spring Sports Awards banquet to be held at Seawells on Rosewood Drive in Columbia Sunday June, 24th.

Coach Holbrook will be driving to the banquet from a travel baseball weekend in Nashville, Tennessee involving his talented rising sophomore son Reece who has committed to North Carolina.

The banquet hotline for last minute pressing issues in 843-200-9555. Any last minute ticket issues need to be reseolved before showing up at the banquet by call Billy Baker at the hotline number. Please call before 2 p.m. 

Staff and volunteers of the HSSR name tagged nearly 800 awards from the seven spring sports in South Carolina on Saturday and doors will open for the 90th all-state banquet sponsored by the HSSR at 2:30 at Seawell’s located on Rosewood Drive directly across from the state fairgrounds.

“We are excited about having one of the most successful coaches in college baseball take some time from a busy summer schedule to come and talk to the all-state honorees from this past Spring sports season in South Carolina,” said HSSR Publisher and Founder Billy G. Baker. “Coach Holbrook had a very successful first season as the head coach of the Cougars and several high profile players who are being honored at the banquet have signed on to join the Cougar baseball program.”

In addition James “Marty” Kinard, the head softball coach at Claflin University will be on hand as an awards presenter for girl’s softball. In his first year as head coach in 2017 Coach Kinard led his team to a conference title. The vast majority of his roster is made up of players from South Carolina.

The spring sports of baseball, softball, Lacrosse, soccer, golf, track and tennis will be honored at the banquet.
